Bendigo Swap

The early bird catches the worm. Never was a saying so true as at the Bendigo Swap Meet. By the time the gates opened to the public Saturday morning, most of the "bargains" had been picked up by traders setting up on the Friday. This is really something that the organisers should try and do more to restrict, as it is frustrating for genuine buyers who just aren't in the race when it comes to securing those pieces they need to complete their projects. It is a regular thing to see parts bought on the Friday by traders, re-sold (usually at much inflated prices) on the Saturday.

There were very few project vehicles offered for sale and scarce parts with any amount of old rust on them. It was very hot on the Saturday, peaking at 41C and this tested even the most ardent swapper. Sunday turned out windy and the main problem was the fine powder dust that just gets into everything.
