This menacing black roadster first achieved fame when it was featured in the September 1947 issue of Look magazine. Selected as one of the ten most outstanding SCTA cars ever built, it was constructed by Road Runner Car Club members Ken Crawford and Jerry Stoner. The mechanically minded duo channeled the Ford Roadster body, faired in all external hinges, filled in the door handles, and affixed a tonneau cover for streamlining. To push its blunt-nosed shape through the air, this roadster features a powerful 276-cubic-inch engine.
