Vesco Streamliner

In 1957 Johnny Vesco took his family and his brand new, sleekly designed streamliner to the Bonneville Salt Flats. It was the first ever "narrow" streamliner to hit the flats. It was so unusual the officials made him run in the "experimental" class for fear it would tip over. Driver Jimmy Dinkins drove the car to a speed of 166 mph with a Model B Ford, 176 c.i. A few months later Hot Rod Handbook featured the car on it's cover.

Because of the extreme 24" tread width the car had to run in the experimental class at Speed Week in 1957.
