Models G-7105, G-7016, G-7107, G-7113, G-7116, G-7117, G-7127 and G-7133 were ordered under Contract Numbers W-398-QM-10328 and DA-W-398-QM-B, and were allocated USA Registration Numbers W-345641to W-353400. They appeared to have been sold by CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION, General Motors Sales Corporation, Detroit, Michigan

In addition to US Government orders, civilian trucks were available from 1940 up to the truncated 1942 Model Years. After February 1942, all GM production was devoted to military contracts save for the Saginaw Plant which continued to produce parts for existing civilian model trucks.

Then, with the requirements of the military being satisfied by production, from 1January 1944 until 31August 1945, 1942-style civilian trucks were started to be built in small numbers as authorised by the U.S. W.P.B. [War Purchase Board], with prices fixed by the O.P.A. [Office of Price Administration]. In Canada, civilian model trucks started to be produced for authorised users in 1944, built on the same lines that produced MCP trucks.

The models available in the Chevrolet line-up were as follows:

All the above wheelbases were in inches.

In 1942, a new engine was available for the first time on the school bus and 1½-Ton Trucks, for the first time: the 235 cu. ins.. “Load Master”, with a Bore and Stoke of  3 9/16 x 3 15/16 inches, Rated at 30.45HP. This engine would later be refined and used as a car engine.

Examples of US-built WA, WB, AM, AN, YR and YS were registered on the civilian register when new for use as ambulances, etc.

Note that the chassis lengths mirrored that of the Chevrolet line, though until 1941, there were no US Chevrolet trucks above 1½-Tons, though there were Maple Leaf trucks built in Canada.

“C” indicates that the truck was Normal or Conventional Control, and “F” Forward Control, or Cab-over-Engine.

There is evidence that those trucks marked “(export)” were handled by General Motors Overseas Operations, New York, and thus built in Tarrytown, NY plant for export although officially U.S. orders under Lend-Lease or predecessors.
