2 Bay Rod Run - Mornington
Friday 25th April 1997
Friday dawned to beautiful clear blue skies, the Club members were busy at the racecourse finalizing all their preparations. Registration opened at 11:30 am and by the time it closed at 5:00pm we had taken 126 entries. The barbque was kept going all afternoon providing entrants with something tasty on their arrival. It certainly looked as though this would be the biggest Run yet.
There were few organised events for the Friday, some Rodders were happy just to sit on the grass and watch the rods roll in or walk around the car park a catch up with friends. In the afternoon there was a cruise to the Mornington Motorcycle Museum and then on to the Pine Ridge Car Museum at Arthurs seat.
Friday night there was two cruises to the Dromana Drive-In. One left at 5:30 and the other at 7:00pm. There were 155 Hot Rods at the Drive-In and along with some of the other local cars it felt like the fifties all over again.
