2 Bay Rod Run - Mornington
Saturday 26th April 1997

There sure was plenty to do on the Satuday.
A new inovation was the display and trade area setup next to registration. This was very well presented and all the rodders took the time to check out what was on offer and to have a look at the displays by local groups. Traders included Hot Rod Hardware, Steve's T-Shirts, Jet Hot Coating and Johns Rod and Custom. On display there was a Salt Lakes Racer, a Sprinter, a GT40 replica, a couple of Bash cars, the Tractors and 2 Sprint Boats, something to interest everyone.

In the afternoon there was the driving events as well as cruises to the Mornington Motorcycle Museum and Pine Ridge Car Museum or a Mini Bus trip to some of the local wineries.

And of course on the Saturday night, a spit roast dinner and Rock and Roll Dance.

John Lynch's Salt Lake Racer. Unfortunatley there was no racing at Lake Gairdner this year due to the heavy inland rains which washed out the event.

Robert Logan had one of his GT40 replicas on display, complete with newly installed Motec Fuel Injection

Australian Tractor Pull Association were well represented with 6 tractors of various configurations. They always pulled a crowd when they fired them up.

Brian Milburn brough along his Sprinter for the display, runs an injected Chev small block.

Jet Hot Coatings had the '55 Chev with a big block on display, it was a great way for Rodders to see an example this treatment.
