To test chassis strength, the engineers at GM put a 454ci big block into a convertible C4. The car had as much HP as the '90 ZR-1 did and it was named "ZR-2" or "Big Doggie". This prototype was also built to see if there was a cheaper alternative to the expensive LT-5 engine. High fuel consumption probably killed it.
