Victorian Hot Rod Show 2013

Well I actually had my car in the Show for the first time since 1992. Only the Bay Rodders Club stand and bugger me if we didn't pick up a second place!
There were 8 cars from our club in the show this year 4 on the club stand (Lawrie-34 Chev roadster pickup, Paul-32 Ford Coupe, 29 roadster pickup) and Kevin with his 36 Ford Roadster, Kelly's 29 Roadster, Dave had his just finished 34 Ford Vicky and Lenny with his newly imported oldtime show winning T roadster all on individual stands. Kelly was lucky enough to pick up second place Show Class and get an invite to Motorex in Sydney later in the year.
It was interesting this year in so far as there were a small number of what really were show cars which is to be expected at an indoor show, but a lot of very high quality cars that saw street use. There were a few show cars that I had seen from several years ago and to be honest whilst I appreciate them have sort of lost their wow factor. Not a fan of the VW or where it was placed, but I suppose for the promoters so long as it gets them in the doors it's all good. Got to catch up with lots of friends which is always a good thing.
