BILL BARKER SUCCESSFUL

The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA) Thu 24 Mar 1938
Records Smashed

COORONG. March 16th. 1938.
Bill Barker, the well-known LEVIS rider, again smashes a large number of Australian records. This is the second time Bill Barker has broken existing records, previously on a standard "D" LEVIS, when he broke 17 records in one day. Bill Barker and his LEVIS are constantly competing in Victoria on all classes of competitions, with remarkable success, and his sucess is particularly noteworthy, as it is his standard LEVIS that is used by him.

The records just broken by him were smashed on a twin Zenith, fitted with the world-famous J.A-P. engine, as fitted to all O.K. Supreme and Montgomery motor cycles, and on this occasion he attained the phenomenal speed of 125.G7 miles per hour, and averaged, for a distance of 5 miles. 116 miles per hour (subject to official confirmation. On his previous record breaking efforts he used a standard model LEVIS.
